Full Description
A pillbox can be seen in an area where woodland has been removed. It appears to be a Type 24 pillbox (a hexgon in plan with one longer wall) with a secondary concrete wall surrounding it. It is not visible on photographs from the 1940s due to the tree cover but it is presumably of World War II date. (S1) (S2)
RAF Bawdsey. Type 24 pillbox, with skirt formed by brick retaining wall. Interval filled with sand and covered with thin concreted sandbag 'tiles'. [SGP/SK/43] (S3).
(Record duplicated BAW 169 and revoked)
