Full Description

A system of slit trenches can be seen at the edge of the cliff, north of RAF Bawdsey in 1940. The photographs from this date are of poor quality but there may be structures within this area of trenches. To the south of the area two buildings can be seen, these presumably had a military purpose. (S1) By April 1944 barbed wire can be seen running around the site and then north along the cliff edge to TM34963899. There may be a few other structures but these are tiny and therefore have not been mapped. (S2) By 1945 the barbed wire has been removed but the buildings and the slit trench are still visible. (S3)
The buildings have been removed by 1952.
