Full Description

Two buildings, as well as another small square concrete structure, can be seen at RAF Bawdsey on photographs taken in 1940. There is a blast wall surrounding the building to the east. The function of the buildings is unclear. (S1) By April 1944 only the building with the surrounding blast wall remains. There may be barbed wire encircling the building but it is hard to be sure as there is a fence following the same line in later photographs. (S2) The building is still visible on photographs taken in 1995 and is still depicted on the modern base map. (S3) These structures could have easily pre-dated World War II.
