MILITARY FEATURE? (Constructed before July 1940, Early 20th century to Second World War - 1901 AD? to 1945 AD?)

Full Description

A small feature can be seen on photographs taken in July 1940, in the centre of a small square enclosure. There appears to be something sticking up out of the central feature. (S1) By 1944 the feature appears to have no height but a concrete square is clearly visible in the centre of the square enclosure. (S2) (S3) The feature is no longer visible by 1955.
