Full Description

What appears to be a structure, c 20m across, is visible in the sand, with some kind of bank behind it, east of Reedland Marshes on 1941 aerial photgraphs (S1). It is presumably of World War II date and is likely to have had a military function, especially given its proximity to the beach defence scaffolding in this area, and its location at a gap in the barbed wire obstruction. That the structure was only temporary is suggested by the fact that it seems to have disappeared by 1945 (S2). The exact purpose of this structure is unknown.
