Full Description

A bomb crater can be seen as an earthwork at TM47116802 on Dunwich Heath on aerial photographs from 1941(S1). The crater is quite substantial, nearly 9m across, and would have been created during World War II when military action occurred in this area. The crater and its upcast can still be clearly seen on aerial photographs from 1945(S2).
