Full Description
Sections of World War II practice trench, varying in length from 17m to 60m, are visible as earthworks to the north of Goose Hill, on 1945 aerial photographs (S1). These features are part of extensive military activity in this area during the Second World War period. There may be more trenches in this area than those mapped, as it is difficult to delineate the trenches exactly from the aerial photograph evidence, as general ground disturbance masks some of the narrower trenches.
