Full Description
A possible Bronze Age round barrow or Later Prehistoric or Roman hut circle, centred on TM 28054375, is visible on aerial photographs as the cropmark of a ring ditch. The ring ditch has an overall diameter of circa 18m. The width of the ditch, 3m, suggests that the feature may be a small Bronze Age round barrow. The ring ditch is located within an extensive Later Prehistoric or Roman field system (WLD 017) and one of the north-south field boundaries bisects the ring ditch. This may support the idea that the ring ditch belonged to a Bronze Age round barrow as the barrow may have been used as a marker when laying out the later field system. (S1) (S2) (S3)
