Full Description

A possible World War II roadblock is visible as a structure on aerial photographs, centred on TM24723354. It is not possible from the aerial photographs to make out the form of the roadblock, but it appears that a structure circa 6m long obstructs the coastal access road at the southernmost point of Shotley peninsular in 1944. A structure may still be in place in 1946. All structures appear to have been removed by 1951. (S1-S3)
