Full Description
A World War II barbed wire obstruction is visible as a structure on aerial photographs from 1944, centred on circa TM24323430. The obstruction is just over 85m in length, and forms the western and northern sides of an irregularly shaped enclosure of nearly 2500 square metres, the other two sides being formed by an existing hedge-line. The obstruction runs from TM24323426 to TM24353433. The purpose of the enclosure is unclear from the photographs, but the barbed wire appears to have been laid on the same orientation as that of the northern section of the Heavy Anti-aircraft Artillery emplacement immediately to the south (see SLY 087), suggesting a related use for the enclosure. The obstruction has been removed by 1946. (S1-S2)
