Monument record BML 029 - World War II slit trenches and possible shell crater on golf course.

World War II slit trenches and a possible bomb crater are visible as earthworks, centred on TM 29904930, on aerial photographs of Bromeswell Heath. Four slit trenches are visible, arranged in a row, which vary in length from roughly 8m to 11m. Two of the trenches have a bank of upcast on their northern side. To the west of the trenches, at TM 29884923, a small circular hollow 5.5m in diameter is visible. This may be a small bomb or shell crater. The trenches may be practice trenches or weapons pits related to the intense military activity in this area during World War II. (S1, S2)
