Full Description

A linear bank is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs, centred on TM 29084940. The bank is 74m long and is aligned with the edge of the modern field. On a photograph from 1944 (S1), it is possible that structures are visible in the shadow cast by the trees at the edge of the field. These features have not been plotted as part of the project as they cannot be defined but it is possible that the bank relates to these structures in some way. The intensity of military activity in this area suggests that the bank and possible structures may be of World War II date, as does the unconsolidated nature of the bank. (S2) (S3)
