Full Description

The remains of a footbridge to Haven house are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs from 1941 onwards, centred on TM46865883 (S1). The footbridge crossed The Haven, a tidal inlet, to allow access to and egress from Haven House at high tide, a path along the beach being sufficient at other times. By the 1940's drainage of the Haven has allowed a permanent coast road to be established and the bridge crossing has been removed, leaving only the approach ramps visible. The earthworks are still visible on photographs up to 1969, although in a somewhat eroded state. (S2, S3).
