Monument record ADB 115 - Two World War II trenches.

Two possible slit trenches are visible as earthworks on Aldeburgh sea front on aerial photographs from 1941. They are located at circa TM46575693 and TM46575691, are approximately 6m x 1m in size, and appear to be surrounded on their longer sides by mounds of spoil. It is possible that they were slit trenches intended to provide military personnel with protection from enemy fire. However, by 1942 the trenches appear to have been filled or possibly covered, suggesting that they might have been in use as air-raid shelters (S2, S3).
