Full Description

Two probable modern military concrete features are visible, centred on TM 27823418, at Waltonferry, Felixstowe, on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s. One feature is a rectangular concrete surface measuring 3m by 4.5m, which may have been the foundations for a small building or structure and the other feature is an arc of about 15m in diameter, made up of what appear to be rectangular concrete slabs. It is possible that this may have been the site of a gun emplacement. The features have apparently been destroyed during the expansion of Felixstowe container port. (S1) (S2) (S3)
