Full Description

Three hollows or craters, possibly caused by unexploded bombs dropped during World War II, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1944. The possible craters, located in a row at TM 269443492, TM 26823495 and TM 26693499 in Trimley St Mary, each measure about 7m in diameter and are only visible on photographs from 1944. The hollows are rather small for bomb craters, suggesting that they may be the results of the impact of bombs that did not explode. (S1) (S2)
