Full Description
Two possible World War II military sites of unknown function are visible as possible earthworks and structures, on aerial photographs taken in 1944, at TM 25523719 and TM 25543722 in Trimley St Martin parish. The features consist of two rectangular enclosures, measuring 12m by 12m and 15m by 15m respectively, one located to the north and one to the south of a field boundary on Sleighton Hill. Both enclosures appear to have a central structure and appear to be either constructed of barbed wire or a narrow ditch. (S1) (S2) By 1946 neither of the enclosures are visible and the fact that the enclosures have gone out of use by this date suggests that they may be of military origin. See TYN 088 for similar structures further to the south. (S3)
