Full Description

A possible Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, centred on TM 22083645 near Pear Tree Farm in Shotley parish. The ring ditch is roughly 1.5m wide and encloses an area approximately 18m in diameter. It appears to be slightly sub-circular. It is possible that the feature may be the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. (S1) (S2) The modern base map appears to show that the site of the ring ditch has been partially built over. (S3)
See SLY 006 for the Later Prehistoric or Roman field system.
