Full Description
A possible World War II pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs located between Alde House, formerly Woodside Cottages, and Iken Woods at circa TM39455639. The possible pillbox is visible on RAF aerial photographs of September 1943. It appears to be located to allow observation of the road junction roughly 300m to the south, itself protected by military features (see IKN 042). The next available photographs of this area are from 1965 (S2). These appear to show a rectangular hole in this location, possibly the foundations of the pillbox. By 1972, all traces of a structure have been removed (S3).
