Full Description

Two Post Medieval field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, centred on TM 2238 3620 in Shotley parish. (S1) (S2) (S3) The field boundaries are visible as linear ditches and fit well into the field pattern shown on the 1st Edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of circa 1884, suggesting that they are of Post Medieval date. (S4)
See SLY 006 for the Later Prehistoric or Roman field system and SLY 015 for the nearby ring ditch.
