Monument record FEX 225 - Probable World War II military earthworks.

Probable World War II military features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1944 onwards, south of Landguard Fort on Landguard Point, Felixstowe. The features include three earthwork mounds located at TM 28243143, TM 28253145 and TM 28253149. The first mound is sub-circular and measures 12m at its widest point. A concrete structure is visible in its centre. The second mound is also sub-circular and measures roughly 20m at its widest point. The third mound is circular with a diameter of 6m. The latter two mounds may also be covering structures of a military function. To the east of these mounds two small hollows are visible at TM 28333147 and TM 28333148. These may be one-man gun-pits.
