Full Description
World War II military features of unknown function are visible as earthworks and structures on aerial photographs taken from 1944 onwards, centred on TM 28353219 on the waterfront to the north of Landguard Fort, Felixstowe. The feature consists of three parallel banks with a zigzag shaped trench cut into the top. A short stretch of barbed wire obstruction 43m in length is visible crossing the banks at a right-angle. To the east of the feature at TM 28373217 a small zigzag slit trench is also visible. The functions of the features are unclear but they are definitely in use during World War II. (S1) (S2)
