Full Description

Possible World War II military features are visible as structures and earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1944 onwards, located at TM 28373217 just to the north of Landguard Fort. The features comprise of a circular concrete ring enclosing an area roughly 11.5m in diameter and, just to the east, a v-shaped slit trench of about 34m in overall length. The function of the features is unclear but it is possible that the concrete ring may have been part of some type of gun emplacement. (S1) (S2) (S3)
