Full Description

A World War II pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs taken from 1944 onwards, located on the beach at the eastern side of Landguard Point, centred on TM 28723204. The pillbox appears to be rectangular and is probably a half-roofed half-open Type 23 pillbox. It is part of the extensive anti-invasion defences that surrounded Landguard Point during World War II.
