Full Description
A probable Post-Medieval sea wall in Iken parish is visible as a bank on aerial photographs from 1943 onwards, centred on circa TM441560. The bank stretches eastwards for approximately 6km from a point about 150m north-east of St Botolphs Church, at circa TM41285678, to TM44645522, with roughly the last 200m extending into Sudbourne parish. The bank can be seen on a 1st edition Ordnance Survey maps of circa 1837 and 1884, and it is probable that it is of Post-Medieval date. (S1-4)
