Full Description

A possible Bronze Age round barrow is visible as the partial cropmark of a ring ditch on aerial photographs, centred on TM 23834030 in fields to the north-west of Levington Park research station, Levington. The ring ditch encloses an area approximately 22m in diameter and is bisected by the modern field boundary. The size of the ring ditch and its location in an area with a high concentration of round barrows suggests that it may represent the remains of a round barrow of Bronze Age date. (S1) (S2) (S3) See LVT 052 for the other possible barrow, LVT 013 for the possible remains of Later Prehistoric or Roman field systems and LVT 054 for the Post Medieval field system. (S4)
