Full Description

An 'M' shaped slit trench of World War II date is visible on aerial photographs of 1943 onwards, as an earthwork cut across the line of a modern field boundary at circa TM38054699 (S1). The ditch is about 2m wide and about 25m long. This feature and a similar trench located circa 450m to the east (see BOY 037) were probably associated with the nearby Armoured Fighting Vehicle practice range (BOY 024) and temporary camp (BOY 035) and were probably positioned to provide covering fire on the approaches to these sites.
