Full Description
A possible ring ditch of unknown date or function is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of 1974, circa 160m to the north of Boyton Hall Farm, Boyton parish, centred on circa TM38264657. It is about 10m north of a rectangular enclosure of possible late prehistoric date (see BOY 061) with which it may be associated. The ring ditch is about 3.5m in diameter, which is smaller than most known types of archaeological ring ditch. In addition, the available photographs are very unclear which might suggest that this feature is not archaeological in origin. However, it is not possible to be sure without excavation. Less coherent possible ring ditches are visible immediately to the east, but these have not been mapped. (S1)
