Full Description

Two World War II pillboxes are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1944 to 1947, located at the junction of the B1456, the B1080 and Freston Street in Freston parish. The pillboxes are hexagonal in shape and are located at TM 17373890 and TM 17363895, at opposite sides of the crossroads. This would have enabled one pillbox to cover two of the roads and the other pillbox to cover the two roads running in the opposite direction. (S1) (S2) (S3) The pillboxes were removed between 1946 and 1951. (S4)
