Full Description

A possible Post Medieval road is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, centred on TM 17533922 to the south of Wheelwright's Piece in Freston parish. The road is visible as a compacted or metalled surface bounded by a ditch at either side. Two stretches of road are visible, one running east-west and one running north-south. These roads form a T-junction at TM 17533922. The road does not appear to relate to the modern landscape layout or to the much earlier field system (FRT 009), though it is on a similar alignment to the modern field pattern suggesting that it may be of Post Medieval date, possibly representing an earlier access to Freston Park.
