Full Description
A Post Medieval boat hard is visible as an earthwork in the inter-tidal zone of the River Orwell on aerial photographs, at TM 17794012 near Pond Hall, Ipswich. The boat hard is a substantial bank 81m in length and 8m wide, (S1, S2) It is depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition Ordnance Survey 25" maps of circa 1884 and 1904 and is therefore probably of late Post Medieval date (S3, S4).
