Full Description
A short length of causeway of probable Post medieval date, is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork located roughly 550m to the south of Chillesford Lodge in Gedgrave parish, at circa TM39875029. The causeway is approximately 90m long and about 6m wide. The earthwork is in the same location as a footpath marked on the second edition ordnance survey map of circa 1904, but on the first edition of circa 1884 the footpath appears to run on a different course to the west. The causeway is therefore probably of Post Medieval date, but the possibility that it may be earlier in date cannot be discounted. (S1-3)
