Full Description

A series of temporary structures, some of which may be military tents, are visible on aerial photographs of 1943 located at the edge of a field approximately 100m to the west of Chillesford lodge at circa TM396509 (S1). Twelve structures in all can be seen. Six are about 12 x 6m in size, and five more are about 8 x 5m. The final structure is a Nissen Hut type hemispherical hut about 7m wide and about 30m long. By September 1945 only the Nissen Hut type hemispherical hut is visible (S2). It is possible, though unlikely, that the temporary structures are agricultural in nature.
