Full Description

A ring ditch or oval enclosure of unknown date and function is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs, centred on TM 19223450 to the south of Walk Gate Cottages in Harkstead parish. The sub-circular ring ditch or oval enclosure ditch encloses an area of 18m by 15m at its widest and longest points. (S1-S3) The ring ditch could be the plough-levelled remains of a round or oval burial mound of prehistoric date. (S4)
