Full Description

A short stretch of probable Post Medieval seabank is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s, centred on TM 15253338 at the edge of Holbrook Bay to the north of Stutton Ness. The seabank is 130m in length and protects an area of low-lying ground to the north-west from flooding. (S1) (S2) The seabank is depicted on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of 1882 but could easily have much earlier origins. (S3)
