Full Description
Probable field boundaries of possible prehistoric date are visible as cropmarks to the North of Holly Wood, Stutton parish, centred on circa TM13973494. The cropmarks are fragmentary but are clearly orientated roughly north to south and south-west to north-east, a pattern different to that of the existing Post-Medieval derived field system. This suggests that the boundaries belong to a previous phase of enclosure, possibly later prehistoric or Roman in date. This site may be related to that recorded in STU 008. (S1)
