Full Description
The structural remains of a Post-Medieval sea wall are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards, centred on circa TM10413262, Brantham parish (S1, S2). The remains are visible as a row of posts, probably timber, extending from the line of the existing earthworks for about 23m. The posts are likely to be the remains of the internal revetment belonging to a previous phase of flood defence banks, as marked on William Brasier's map of 1731 (S3).
