Full Description

A series of possible ditched trackways and a possible field boundary of unknown date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, centred on circa TM24264044 in Levington parish, immediately to the north east of Keepers cottages on Levington Heath. The cropmarks are fragmentary and somewhat indistinct in places and are only visible on aerial photographs of 1944 (S1). A section of track at TM24214050 and a possible linear boundary or track, the southern end of which is visible at on TM24224030, are on a similar south-west to north-east alignment to those recorded as SNH 001 and LVT 054 to the south and interpreted as post-medieval in date. It is possible that the linear boundary is a continuation of SNH 001. Two curvilinear and irregularly shaped sections of possible track way at TM24264046 and TM24284037 may be earlier, perhaps later prehistoric in date.
