Full Description

A possible pillbox of Second World War date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs on the roadside verge on Croft lane, opposite Croft Cottage on the corner of a road junction, centred on circa TM26033926 in Kirton parish. The pillbox was probably placed in this location to cover routes to Felixstowe and due to the proximity of the radar station to the east (see TYN ???). The pillbox appears to have been removed by 1948. (S1, S2)
