Full Description

A ring ditch of unknown date and a ditched field boundary of probable post-medieval date are both visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks to the south of the house named Candlet in Trimley St Mary, centred on circa TM29073653. The probable field boundary abuts the unnamed lane to the south of Candlet at it's northern end and a cropmark of a post-medieval field boundary (as marked on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of circa 1884 (S1)) to the south. It is probably therefore of post-medieval date. The cropmark ring ditch is circa 1.5 metres wide and 18 metres in diameter. It may be the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. (S2)
