Full Description

A possible Bronze Age round barrow can be seen as the cropmark of a ring ditch circa 30 metres in diameter on aerial photographs, immediately to the south of Candlet Road in Felixstowe, centred on circa TM29123624. The cropmark of the ditch is on average 2.5 metres wide, enclosing an area circa 25 metres in diameter. There is no visible causeway or entrance to the interior of the ring ditch. Similar remains can be seen within 300 metres both to the north and the south of this ring ditch, an area at the highest point of the Felixstowe peninsular.
