Full Description
A possible ring ditch of unknown date and function is visible as a cropmark to the east of Bucklesham, centred on circa TM247415 within the area of the cropmark complex BUC ???, Bucklesham parish. The possible ring ditch is circa 8 metres in diameter, but the south-eastern side is obscured by an area of deeper soil. A possible central pit can be seen, but this may be a natural feature, numerous similar features being visible in the surrounding area. It must also be considered that these may be pits of archaeological origin. However, the ring ditch is not very clear and may itself prove to be non-archaeological in origin upon excavation. Two sub-square small ditched enclosures can be seen to the immediate north-east of this feature (see BUC ???). (S1)
