Full Description

The remains of a probable earthwork mound of unknown date are visible as a soilmark approximately 350 metres to the north-east of The Grange, Little Bealings parish, centred on circa TM237478. The soilmark is up to 20 metres in diameter but is quite diffuse and probably includes material spread by ploughing. The mound itself was probably circa 16-19 metres in diameter. It may be the remains of a borrow of Neolithic or Bronze Age date. Two similar sized features can be seen in this area, the first to the west surviving as an earthwork in 1955 (BEL 042), and the second immediately to the east also as a soilmark (BEL 044). (S1).
