Monument record MRM 125 - Possible field system of unknown date, visible as cropmarks.

A possible field system of unknown date is visible a cropmarks on aerial photographs, to the west of Martlesham Lodge, Martlesham parish, centred roughly on TM254466. The boundaries may form a small field system or complex of ditched enclosures, and are aligned approximately north-east to south-west, unlike that of the dominant extant field system. It is therefore likely the cropmark system predates the current field system which is probably post-medieval in origin. It may be associated with cropmarks complexes to the west and east (MRM 124, MRM126), but this cannot be determined from the aerial photographs alone. (S1)
