Full Description

A possible ring ditch of unknown date is visible as a cropmark on an aerial photograph to the south of Withersdale Street, Mendham parish, centred on circa TM 266804. The ring ditch is actually more oval than circular in shape, approximately 22 metres in length from north to south. However it may contain a smaller circular feature about 10 metres in diameter at its northern end, but as this is unclear it has not been transcribed. The date and function of this site is unknown, but it may be the remains of the post-mill described in MDM 065 to the south. (S1)
