Full Description
A permanent military camp associated with the Second World War airfield at Bungay is visible on aerial photographs of 1944 as a complex of structures centred on circa TM 314862, immediately to the north-east of Abbey Wood, Flixton parish (S1). The precise function of the site is not known but a use as accommodation or suchlike is probable. It was not possible to transcribe the camp in detail due to the poor clarity of the photograph.
Site of communal site no 10 of Bungay (Flixton) Airfield. The site comprised Officers quarters and latrines, Officers ablutions, Sergeants quarters and Latrines, Airmen's barrack huts and Latrine, ablutions sergeants and airmen and picket post (S2).
