Full Description
One of ten permanent military camps in this area associated with the Second World War airfield at Bungay is visible on aerial photographs of 1944 as a complex of structures centred on circa TM 313860, immediately to the south-west of Abbey Wood, Flixton parish (S1). The precise function of the site is not known but a use as accommodation or suchlike is probable. It was not possible to accurately transcribe the camp in due to the poor clarity of the photograph.
Site of Communal Site No.11 dispersed site of Flixton (Bungay) Airfield. The site comprised of Airmens barracks, Sergeants and Airmens Ablutions, Sergeants Quarters, Officers Quarters, Officers Latrine, Picket Post, Stanton Air Raid Shelters, Urinal and Fuel Compound (S2).
