Full Description

An earthwork causeway, probably of medieval origin, can be seen on aerial photographs crossing Benstead Marshes, Mettingham parish, centred on TM 371910. The causeway appears to continue in a north-easterly direction for approximately 400 metres from the farm track at Bridge Farm. However, it is visible in two sections, the southern as a ditch bounded raised track, the northern simply as a raised path. The ditches of the southern section are probably part of the drainage system visible to the west (MTT 039).
