Full Description

Probable extractive pits, probably clay or gravel pits of post-medieval date, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs approximately 200 metres to the west of Holy Trinity Church, Barsham, at circa TM 394896. Probable extractive pits are marked on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map of circa 1884 in this area, and it is possible these are the remains of further unmarked extractive pits. (S1)
