Full Description

A circular earthwork depression circa 20 metres in diameter, probably a bomb crater of Second World War date, is visible on aerial photographs to the south of Beccles town, Beccles parish centred on circa TM 430891. That the crater appears to be within an area of grassland, with therefore relatively compact topsoil, may account for the comparatively small amount of upcast from what must have been a significant explosion.
